AS Roma vs Fiorentina
Roma had a difficult start to the season, but over the last two months, they have progressively improved their Serie A (SA) record; only Juventus has surpassed their 19-point total since the beginning of October (W6, D1, L1). Their most recent victory in that run came against Sassuolo, when they overcame a 2-1 deficit to score twice in the last 15 minutes of play and move up to the top four heading of the round.
Roma's recollections of their opponents Fiorentina, who defeated them 2-1 in their most recent head-to-head match, may still be raw. Since then, José Mourinho's team has shown to be the most deadly in the division towards the end of games; this season, they have scored a league-high 13 goals beyond the 75th minute in total. In their most recent league home game against Udinese, they too need two late goals to win 3-1, extending their winning streak at the Studio Olimpico to seven games.
Fiorentina entered this match having fought through 120 minutes and penalties in midweek Coppa Italia action against Parma. They did, however, come out on top and secure a spot in the quarterfinals, making it five victories in their past six games in all competitions, even though that could have an effect on their energy levels (L1).
